I’ve been seeing a lot of pictures lately of people returning from treks to Everest Base Camp. While I have no desire to summit Everest, I’ve always thought the idea of getting to its base camp would be an amazing experience all by itself. I know it would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me as I expand my hiking interests abroad.
This idea came up again most recently among my co-workers as I returned from hiking Costa Rica’s Cerro Chirripo. I work with someone from Nepal who offered to help make these arrangements and wants join us on this adventure. We talked about the best times to go and have set our sights on accomplishing this in the Fall of 2020!
I’ve found that once you start telling people about your plans (or goals), there’s something about this exchange that leads to making it happen…
<gulp>
