This makes 21/50 for me and brings my season of State Highpoints to an end for the year. 12 states in 5 months has been one heck of a ride!
Guadalupe is one of the easier ones, I think! …right up there with Humphreys, Mansfield and maybe even Marcy. You climb a mere 2,800′ over 4 miles. Took me only an hour and forty minutes.
There are a few other trails you can explore from this trailhead in you wanted to extend your adventure:
- Tejas Trail (that can be done as a loop, up to Hunter Peak then down the Bear Canyon Trail)
- El Capitan Trail (different than the one in Yosemite)
- Devil’s Hall Trail (looked like a wash that turns into a slot canyon the further up you go)
Full trip report coming soon…
