Plans didn’t work out to do Wyoming’s tallest peak in August, so I went with plan B and did three good peaks back east with my brother-in-law. First up was on the south slope of Mt. Frissell where Connecticut meets Massachusetts.

Hiking to La Cruz de Alajuelita has been on my list since 2019... and finally got to do it on the tail end of this last business trip to Costa Rica. A 4-mile loop with 2,000` of elevation gain in the foothills of San Jose was still a jungle-like experience, numerous river crossings and all!
